On Tuesday 19th September, year 2 had a history workshop where we learnt about why Mary Seacole was a significant person and her impact on modern nursing. We learnt that Mary Seacole had 4 beliefs about how to look after poorly people – medicine (she made her own from plants), good food, comfort (so her patients had comfy beds), and entertainment (she thought bored people wouldn’t get better very quickly so they were entertained with books and music). We had lots of fun learning about Mary Seacole and had to work as part of a team to make our bodies into shapes from part of her story.
