I would like to introduce Clarrie the travelling Bear!
Clarrie would like to go on trips abroad with any parents or carers who may be travelling to other countries as part of their job or to visit family members overseas. Clarrie is flat so he should fit in your luggage easily. He comes in two different sizes, A4 or small enough to fit inside a bluey sized envelope. Once you get to the place you are staying, please take a photo of Clarrie (preferably outside) and write a few sentences in an email describing the place where you are. Clarrie has ideas of what you could say on his back. If no one in your family is planning to travel abroad this year, you could perhaps post Clarrie to someone who lives in another country and ask them to email photos and a description. Each year group has a large display board with a world map on ready for your photos and letters so that all of the children can learn about different places around the world. Please ask your child's teacher for a laminated Clarrie or print one from the links below.
We are planning on running this initiative for the whole year, so don’t worry if you’re not going away next term.
I look forward to hearing about Clarrie’s adventure!
Things to write about: what country you are in, which continent it is in, if you are near the equator or the North or South Pole. Please describe the weather and tell us what season it is there. Have you seen any animals? We would love to know how the place is different to Tidworth. Some of the features we learn about in school are: beach, cliff, forest, hill, mountain, ocean, river, valley, city, town, village, factory, farm, house, port, harbour and shop. Perhaps you can see some of these features and tell us about them.
Please email your photos to: admin@clarendon-inf.wilts.sch.uk and include your child’s name and/or class in the subject bar.
