Thu 15 Dec 2022 Mrs Daubney

In Year 2, for our Around the World theme, we have been looking at Fiji and comparing it to the Uk. In particular, we looked and compare Suva and Tidworth. We were lucky enough to have a talk from one of our parents who comes from Fiji. We learnt about different animals and geographical features of Fiji. We also learnt some key Fijian words and then were able to ask questions about Fiji. Thank you so much to the parent volunteer who came in to speak with us!

  • Christmas Carol Concert

Fri 09 Dec 2022 Mrs Daubney

On Thursday 8th December and Friday 9th December, the children performed a fantastic carol concert for all the parents. This was a school wide performance and each year group had a different theme. In EYFS, they performed as snowmen and sang beautiful songs about snowmen. In Year 1, the children were dressed as Father Christmas or Rudolph. They then sang fun festive songs like 'Santa Got Stuck up the Chimney' for the parents. Finally, Year 2 sang traditional songs dressed as carol singers. They performed: Away in a Manger, Little Donkey and We Wish you a Merry Christmas! Throughout the performance, Year 2 children read festive readings to the parents. The concert was a wonderful success and we are looking forward to the next one. Thank you to all the staff and children for all their hard work!

Tue 22 Nov 2022 Mrs Daubney

We were incredibly lucky to have a visit from the travelling book fair. This was a brilliant opportunity to look at different books and for parents to buy them. The book fair was incredibly busy every day and the children had an amazing time choosing new books. We hope you enjoy all the wonderful books you got and we are looking forward to the next book fair!

  • Reading Tree

Tue 08 Nov 2022 Mrs Daubney

In assembly, the children discussed and explored the reading tree. We discussed how each child had their own apple for the tree and that daily reading means their apple moves around the tree. We also discussed how their apple will move every 25 days and they are aiming for the exciting golden apple! The children were very excited to hearing about the golden apple and they have all pledged to reach it by the end of the year!

We are looking forward to so many children reaching the exciting golden apple for 250 days of reading!
