  • Zoo Lab

Wed 28 Sep 2022 Mr Talbot

On Thursday 29th September Year 1 and 2 had a special visit from the zoo lab! We met lots of exciting animals including a tree frog, a python, a tarantula, an African Snail and a gecko. We even had the chance to hold some of the animals! Year 1 talked about the different classifications each animal belonged to. Whilst year 2 talked about the different habitats that each animal would live in when in the wild. Everyone was very brave and brilliant at showing respect to the animals.

  • Fire Service Visit

Wed 28 Sep 2022 Lucy Daubney

This week, the children were visited by Dorset and Wiltshire Fire Service. They have learnt about what a firefighter is and how they can keep us safe. The children had a wonderful visit and enjoyed learning about this. The fire service have also been in contact with us and thanked us for our support.

    Dear Parents and Carers,

Your child has recently had a visit from Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service. They have learnt about the role of firefighters, how they keep us safe and what the children can do to help stay safe. Please look at this sway presentation (can be opened on any device with internet access) and look through the information with your child so they can share with you what they have learnt. At the end you will find a link to a short quiz to do with your child. In the summer, one entry will be picked to win a VIP trip to a fire station for the winning child and their school will win a £50 book token.

Staying Safe: Safe to play or stay away? (office.com)

Thank you for your help, Dorset & Wiltshire Fire and Rescue Service

  • Rosa Parks Workshop - Year 2

Fri 09 Sep 2022 Hannah Kimnell

On Thursday 8th September, year two had an online workshop to learn about who Rosa Parks was and why she is a significant person. We learnt why she refused to give up her seat on the bus and what happened as a result of her bravery. We talked about how it isn’t right to treat people differently. We heard about Martin Luther King talking about how he dreamed that one day everyone would be treated equally. We talked about what our dreams for the future are, we had marine biologist, a vet and a superhero! We also learnt about other people who are trying to make things better in the world, like Greta Thunberg and Malala Yousafzai. We really enjoyed learning about Rosa Parks!

  • Welcome Back!

Tue 06 Sep 2022 Lucy Daubney

We would like to say huge welcome back to all our families and staff at Clarendon Infants School. It has been wonderful seeing you all! Also, a warm welcome to any new families who have joined us this year!

The children have all settled in brilliantly and are enjoying their new classes and year groups. They have enjoyed talking about transition into their new classes and their hopes for the year. All the children have also discussed our school ethos of Pride - Respect - Success.

It has been a fantastic start and we are looking forward to another brilliant year at Clarendon Infants School!
